Forest Master FM10D-7 7-ton electric hydraulic log splitter
Forest Master FM10D-7 log splitter is the perfect machine for splitting your green or seasoned wood. Equipped with a 2200-watt motor the machine reaches 7 tons of force with ease. The FM10D-7 is twice as efficient, due to the pre-fitted DUOBLADE and with the pre-fitted Ram Stop it can save you time.
Featuring two-hand operation and supplied with the workbench and safety guard, using a log splitter has never been safer, once attached the safety guard allows you to split logs and contain them, this prevents any debris leaving the cage, in turn greatly reducing the risk of injury. The safety guard is also different from other designs, by removing the holes on the sides, the possibility of a log damaging the guard is greatly reduced. This also means that the log splitter meets the latest safety standards.
The DUOBLADE allows the log to be split from both ends, this doubles the splitting capacity of the log splitter, meaning it can tackle wood that a normal 7-ton machine can’t do. When splitting the log sometimes the blade may encounter a knot, if this happens with the FM10D-7 the other blade takes over and splits the log, if a traditional log splitter does this, it could jam the machine, and you will have to free the log before continuing.
When splitting smaller logs, the Ram Stop allows you to control the return distance of the DUOBLADE so that shorter logs can be split faster.

I ordered this unit in the afternoon (after 2:00 pm cut-off time for next day delivery) and was amazed when it was delivered the following day. The log splitter arrived in perfect condition and, having seen demonstrations of it previously on YouTube, I was splitting logs in no time at all. I have now split a pile of dry logs, including some very knotty pieces, into fine sticks for use in a pizza oven; it was a pleasure using ‘my new toy’ as my wife calls it.
If you need a reasonably priced log splitter I can thoroughly recommend this one.

Ordered yesterday @ 3pm & was delivered 12.05 today. Amazing how I can get a 50kg wood splitter delivered in less than a day & other companies take a week to deliver small items.
The wood splitter is amazing. I had over 100 12″ logs split in about 2 hours.
Stand looks like a waste of time to me as I just placed splitter next to my wood pile used a foam knee pad & got on with it. No created bending down.
Shoulder injury was what made me buy this but wish I’d bought it sooner as it is so time & blister saving.
Don’t think about it just buy one of these.

This log splitter really is worth its weight in gold – I really wish I had bought one years ago instead of stubbornly spurning such aids in preference to splitting with an axe. I have no experience with other log splitters, so I can’t compare with anything other than my axe. I have found that I can split an equal amount compared to the axe but it actually ends up being more because I don’t have to take so many rests. Also I used to have to put to one side knotty logs with the axe because they were too much effort, but the log splitter mostly copes with them. There are a few points:
1. The backstop is crucial to maximum throughput and I adjust it for every log size – doing this really does improve the throughput. However the backstop clamp is a bit mickymouse, it seems like an add on rather than being an integral part of the original design. It really could benefit from a re-design in order to make it more robust and easier to use, given from my perspective the crucial importance of this feature.
2. I have found that on well seasoned ash, the log doesn’t split as such, rather it just “explodes” in the forward direction at various angles. This shouldn’t be a problem other than one being aware of the typical trajectory of the resultant splits – you really wouldn’t want the more energetic of these split sections to hit you.
3. I think the optional stand is pretty essential unless you have a suitable bench to put it on. At present I have it on the floor and I find it quite hard on my back. Also I think if you were standing there would be less risk from the “exploding” splits I mention above.

Sorry for the delay only opened it yesterday must have been dropped the guard plate and wheel housing bracket bent . I’ve straightened them took me about an hour also why aren’t the wheels touching the ground this would make it lot more stable not to good for something that costs over £450 . The 9 second operation is a bit slow to chop a large amount of firewood. I still use my axe as a preferred method but there are some logs that the axe wont look at and this is when this machine is useful. No regrets with my purchace,

Splits great but the left hand side rail broke within an hour of using it! I’ve had to repair it using a washer as the bolt has pulled through the guide hole! Today whilst using the splitter the rear operating handle and plate looks to have twisted with pressure and slipped away from the pressure pin which shot out under pressure and caused the machine to dump all its hydraulic fluid over the drive! The splitter is now rendered useless! I’ve emailed arrows to see what can be done! The plate is clearly too flimsy!
