I used to chop logs with either large axe, 6 kilo Maul or Silverline log bomb and sledge hammer, my arms used to ache like mad I could not sleep because of the pains. I decided to buy a 5 ton Duocut electric log splitter and stand, I split and filled my wood store within 8 hours, from experience I know it would have taken me at least 2 weeks of hard work to achieve what I had done with this first class bit of kit. Dont hesitate buy one and save yourself a lot of hard work.

Bought this splitter with stand and when we tried to put it together we found that the stand was squint and would not fit to the splitter. Phoned Arrow at 3pm and a new one was with us the next day, Christmas eve, now that IS service!

Excellent piece of kit – splits oak and willow with ease, so exactly what was required. I think the stand is essential to save bending too much, and it is straightforward to fit, ideally requiring two people, but manageable by one if you are careful. A solid and robust product, very promptly delivered after ordering, and well worth the money.

Hi,
The first machine had been dropped in transit, the hand shield and lever were badly bent; the motor was noisy and the ram leaked hydraulic oil from the motor end.
The second machine arrived quickly, in better order but the packaging had suffered being too frail for a heavy machine. It was low in oil but after a top up has worked like a Trojan ever since.
Arrow After Sales Service – Very Good.
Couriers – 1st Delivery, A whiny jobs worth who wouldn’t move it without a ‘hand’.
2nd Delivery, An older man who picked it out of the van on his own, stood there with it and said “Where do you want it?”

Delivered the day after I order it. I took a while to figure out how to assemble the stand — the instructions and diagrams are not very clear. I managed to assemble ok on my own but it would be better to have some assistance.
The splitter is excellent and make the job of splitting logs simple. I am glad I purchased a stand to save bending.

An excellent tool but very heavy. I nearly bought the FM16 but in fact the FM10 is quite capable of splitting my logs of up to 500mm diameter, exactly as specified, so no need to do your back in with the extra 9kg. I found the instruction manual quite OK, although those for the stand assembly are a bit diagrammatic but understandable.
Arrows UK service is excellent. The splitter arrived within 2 days of ordering. When I unpacked it I noticed that one of the stand bolts was missing but a quick phone call sorted it and a replacement arrived by return of post.
Definitely recommended!
