Advantage of the DUOBLADE
The DUOBLADE allows the log to be split from both ends, this doubles the splitting capacity of the log splitter, meaning it can tackle wood that a normal 8 ton machine can’t do. When splitting the log sometimes the blade may encounter a knot, if this happens with the FM16TW the other blade takes over and splits the log, if a traditional log splitter does this, it could jam the machine, and you will have to free the log before continuing.
Advantage of the Ram Stop
When splitting smaller logs, the Ram Stop allows you to control the return distance of the DUOBLADE so that shorter logs can be split faster.
Advantage of the Castor Wheels
The added feature of castor wheels means that you can move the log splitter without lifting the front, once you have the log splitter in place you simply lock the front wheels.

This is a fantastic machine. Does what it says, splits large-diameter logs easily. The 2-speed control lever is very well designed and easily controlled. The adjustable ram position is also an excellent idea so that for smaller length logs, not so much energy or time is used waiting for it to travel on the bed.
I have never used a log splitter of any type before but am more than extremely satisfied with this product. No fiddling with petrol either. It appears British-made too which if so is a real bonus.

Excellent machine. Dual speed helps split soft / smaller logs quickly and still cope with much bigger or tough ones on the slower setting. The locking ring helps limit travel so if your logs are a reasonably consistent length it saves travel time for shorter ones. The small casters can be a bit of a pain on rough concrete but they lock nicely and keep the machine steady while in use. You ideally need a helper to keep up with the rate at which you can split logs or you end up marooned in the midst of a pile of nicely split firewood.

My old 7 Ton German log splitter was very good with smaller logs but could not deal with knots or larger logs.
Was unsure whether this one would be any better with only 1 ton more pressure
I used it for 2 days solid to do the big logs and awkward knotty ones and surprisingly it coped on all.
Absolutely brilliant machine
Bigger sturdier and much more efficient than the 7 ton machine.
I recommend getting the stand with it as its a heavy piece of kit.
Very please with my new Toy.
Didn’t need the cage as it got in the way of large logs health and safety overkill.
