Forest Master 6HP Compact Petrol Wood Chipper
The FM6DD is a patent-pending (GB2008049.5) compact petrol wood chipper capable of chipping wood up to 50mm (2 inches) in diameter. The FM6DD’s powerful 6hp LCT engine can rotate the chipper drum at a maximum of 3600rpm. This enables it to easily chip all kinds of freshly cut wood from hard to soft. It is a direct drive for better performance and this also means that there are no belts that you have to keep adjusting.
You can either choose to buy the FM6DD equipped with a standard pull start or you can opt to upgrade your FM6DD with an electric start attachment. The electric start attachment means that at the turn of a key you’re ready to start chipping without having to deal with the often tedious struggle of a pull start cord.
The electric start petrol wood chipper is also equipped with a backup pull-start cord which recharges the battery. Meaning you don’t need to worry about leaving your chipper idle for a long period of time.
The FM6DD has twin reversible blades so that when one side becomes worn from use the blades can simply be turned around to use the second side. This saves the need for constant resharpening and effectively doubles the life of the blades. The lightweight and compact size of the chipper enables it to be extremely manoeuvrable and easy to store.
Both the feed hopper and the discharge chute have a hinged chute design, enabling the user to easily access the drum for quick maintenance. The end of the FM6DD’s discharge chute can be angled to direct the chips.
The FM6DD is powered by the latest LCT Maxx Series 208cc 4 Stroke engine. LCT are a US-owned company that manufactures 4 stroke engines that are used in a wide variety of outdoor power equipment.

Ordered the chipper on a Saturday and it arrived the following Tuesday.
Easily assembled, filled with oil and fuel and it started first pull.
Chips straight wood up to 50mm dia. very quickly. There’s a plate in the chute that prevents larger pieces of timber being inserted.
It will not accept branches that are bent.
Best to wear gloves when feeding some thicker branches into the chute, as the chipping action can be quite violent.

Brilliant service, excellent little chipper. Cleared through the pile of branches from a recently felled tree in no time. Got another tree to take down over Christmas and this little chipper will be a great help in clearing up the small branches.

Surprisingly powerful and compact chipper. The downside is the size of the holes in the loading chute (not all branches are perfectly straight!) Chute safety plate modified and now deals with all the branches fed into it. Would recommend.
Biggest disappointment was the delivery. No notification of when it would be delivered and the two expensive boxes were left at the end of my 100m driveway next to the road overnight, not even a text to say it had been delivered. Fortunately my delivery wasn’t stolen overnight, so minus 10 for delivery service.

Evil little bugger isn’t it ! LOL ! Having used a Bearcat previously, I was apprehensive – after removing the ridiculous EU restrictor plate & getting it in ADULT mode – I was pleasantly surprised when it fired up FIRST pull ! After letting it warm up, I began using it with about 3/4 revs – soon found it would cope with almost anything up to 2.5″ at half speed as it has so much torque ! It will cope with leaves & green material too – providing it’s mixed with dry branches & fed slowly ! A great little machine !!

DHL have informed me that item hase been delivered and signed for, But not to me and not by me. I haved conntacted DHL, and have to wait upto 3 days for a reply.
DHL have now acknowledged the delivery error and wish me to find the address to retrieve the boxes….and carry them home ?.

An amazing piece of equipment. Started first time, abit Loud when running but so powerful! Nice small chippings, and I mean small. Cut down some of my apple tree and conifers some good thicknesses and not seen the engine close to stalling yet. The outshoot was abit twisted during manufacturing and made it hard to install but apart from that a well made bit of kit!

Sellotape used inadequate bottom of box open when delivered. Also one side of box ripped plus other minor skuffs and small holes. Contents ok no problem assembling. Ran it for about 2 minutes then put a few branches through pleased with the end product. Will soon be putting a good quantity through when it cools down can’t work with temperatures in the low 30’s.

Spent ages researching chipper/shredders – inundated Arrows Support with questions – responses always polite and helpful. Finally convinced by Jayrock video chipping exactly the stuff I need chipper for. Build was easy – couldn’t get engine bolts to tighten evenly but it works OK so maybe not important -started first pull. I was concerned regarding some adverse reviews about constant clogging but my my first tests using medium sized leylandii branches show no signs of clogging at all -results were perfect leaving both chutes clean. Update 18/7/23 – after several hours use I have not had even a suggestion of a blockage. The machine is awesome, chipping everything I feed it – dry twigs, wet twigs, leafy branches, dead branches, live branches whatever – amazing. Pig sick about the price reduction though.

Would have be liked slightly larger but huge price difference between 6hp and 9 hp. The metal guide in the feed chute only allows straight 40mm branches. Anything to wiggle above 1” won’t fit. Good chipper though.

Arrives in two boxes, Straightforward assembly all the components were clearly referenced in the assembly instructions. Parts are good quality, the paint finish on the major items is very good ( not the usual quick blast of China Red)

Makes gardening easy peasy. Only down side is blades could be a bit more harder. I sent mine to be hardened at a local blacksmith.
Totally recommend this machine for anyone who has a load of plants and trees that need pruning. Love it!
