Common Questions

What oil and fuel does the FM6DD need?

What oil and fuel does the FM6DD need?

The FM6DD-MUL petrol mulcher requires 600 ml of 10W-40 engine oil, although 10W-30 can also be used. Its four-stroke engine runs on either E10 or E5 unleaded petrol.

Where is the dipstick?

Where is the dipstick?

The FM6DD-MUL does not have a dipstick. Instead, the engine has a built-in low-oil sensor that prevents it from starting when the oil level is too low. Add the recommended 600 ml of engine oil before use.

What should I check if the machine will not start?

What should I check if the machine will not start?

First, check that the engine contains the correct amount of oil, as the low-oil sensor will prevent it from starting, if the level is insufficient. If the oil level is correct, make sure the hopper safety sensor bolt (part 51) is fitted and properly tightened.

When should I cut my branches?

When should I cut my branches?

For the best results, chip branches as soon as possible after cutting, ideally within three days. Fresh wood is easier to process, while older, drier branches produce sawdust when chipped and can dull the blades more quickly.
