Common Questions
Can I use with an extension?
If you need an extension cable, use a 2.5 mm² cable no longer than 10 metres and make sure it is fully unwound before use. Longer or smaller cables can cause a drop in voltage and reduce power to the motor.
WHY WON’T MY ELECTRIC CHIPPER START?
First, check that the hopper securing bolt (part 51) is fully tightened, as this operates a safety cut-out. You should also check the plug, fuse and extension cable, and make sure there is no blockage preventing the cutting drum from turning freely.
HOW DO I RESET THE MOTOR?
The reset button is the small clear button next to the ON/OFF switches. If the motor has tripped, clear any blockages and allow it to cool if necessary, then press the button to reset it before starting again.
When should I cut my branches?
For the best results, chip branches as soon as possible after cutting, ideally within three days. Fresh wood is easier to process, while older, drier branches produce sawdust when chipped and can dull the blades more quickly.
