Direct Drive Power, No Belt Hassle

With a direct drive system, there are no belts or chains to adjust or replace. Enjoy consistent, reliable power from the 8HP 263cc LCT CMXX Series engine.

8HP Petrol Engine

Delivers strong cable-free power for tougher garden waste, branches, brambles and regular outdoor clearance work.

Easy Pull Start-Up

Available in standard pull-start form, with an electric start option for users who want easier starting.

Clean in Seconds

A single bolt gives access to the drum, while the removable CE plate makes cleaning fast and frustration-free. No need to dismantle the machine. Quick drum access means cleaning or adjusting blades is fast and simple.

Chip Branches or Mulch Green Waste

With the optional mulcher kit, the FM8DD can be used for both wood chipping and mulching softer green garden waste. This makes it a more versatile choice for users who want one compact machine for different types of outdoor clear-up.

How it works

Feed Branches with Ease

Wide chute feeds branches directly into a dual-blade drum.

Chipped material exits cleanly through the side chute for collection or composting.

Adjustable Discharge Chute

Easily rotate the chute for smooth clearance of branches with leaves.

For best performance, use up to a 70/30 mix of branches to leaves.

For higher leaf volumes, using the mulcher kit accessory is recommended.

Common Questions

What oil and fuel does the FM6DD need?

What oil and fuel does the FM6DD need?

The FM8DD petrol wood chipper requires 600 ml of 10W-40 engine oil, although 10W-30 can also be used. Its four-stroke engine runs on either E10 or E5 unleaded petrol.

Where is the dipstick?

Where is the dipstick?

The FM8DD does not have a dipstick. Instead, the engine has a built-in low-oil sensor that prevents it from starting when the oil level is too low. Add the recommended 600 ml of engine oil before use.

What should I check if the machine will not start?

What should I check if the machine will not start?

First, check that the engine contains the correct amount of oil, as the low-oil sensor will prevent it from starting, if the level is insufficient. If the oil level is correct, make sure the hopper safety sensor bolt (part 51) is fitted and properly tightened.

When should I cut my branches?

When should I cut my branches?

For the best results, chip branches as soon as possible after cutting, ideally within three days. Fresh wood is easier to process, while older, drier branches produce sawdust when chipped and can dull the blades more quickly.
